Claiming his second NEC Rookie of the Week award, Mitchell III tallied three points off a goal and an assist during Saint Francis’ 2-0 win over Central Connecticut on Sunday afternoon. The freshman forward capitalized on a keeper out of position to push the ball across the goal line about 15 minutes into the second half. Mitchell III also dished an assist to Jonah Wolf sending a cross to the top of the 18-yard box to help seal the victory for the Red Flash. The Bothell, WA native is the first SFU freshman to win NEC Rookie of the Week multiple times in the same season since Joschi Schelb in 2023. The Red Flash are the second seed in the upcoming conference tournament and will host No. 3 and defending champion LIU at 1:00 pm on Thursday.
