Musignac, the NEC’s leader in digs, put together another chart-topping stretch in the category to navigate first-place LIU to a 2-1 record in conference play. Racking up 56 digs on the week, she helped the Sharks maintain their position on top of the NEC rankings and secure a spot in the upcoming NEC Tournament with an 11-1 mark on the year. Musignac got her week started with a 15-dig effort in a straight-set triumph against New Haven on Wednesday. With their fifth-straight straight-set victory, the Sharks extended their win streak to 11 and moved to 10-0 in the conference. In a pivotal weekend at second-place Saint Francis, which resulted in a split series, she combined for 41 digs, including a season-best 24-dig-performance that put the Sharks back in sole possession of first place with a five-set triumph on Saturday (Nov. 1). Musignac tops the conference in digs per set (3.57), a number that has been elevated to 4.36 per set against fellow NEC foes. This is her third NEC/Molten Defensive Player of the Week award.
