Giraldo netted two goals in Mercyhurst’s 3-1 victory against Central Connecticut on Sunday. After a scoreless first half, the Lakers struck at the 52:38 mark as Giraldo chipped the ball in the goal off a through ball from Alvar Silva. About 10 minutes late, the freshman midfielder would find the back of the net once again after he deked a defender and a rifled a shot off his left foot. It was his first career multi-goal outing. The win helped keep Mercyhurst's conference postseason hopes alive in its first season of eligibility. Giraldo became the first Laker to earn NEC Rookie of the Week laurels since Mercyhurst joined the league a year ago.
