Last Week’s Stats: .237 hitting percentage, 2.86 points/set, 2.00 kills/set, 1.14 blocks/set
For the third-straight week, Zampieri has been pegged the NEC/Molten Rookie of the Week after she propelled the Knights to two wins at defending league champion Chicago State in rematches of last year’s NEC Championship title match. During her current award spree, FDU has won seven-straight matches dating back to a 3-0 shutout of New Haven on Oct. 3. The Vicenza, Italy native helped the Knights boost their record to 8-1 against NEC foes after she averaged 2.00 kills per set on .237 hitting while adding 1.14 blocks per set. Delivering seven kills and five rejections in Friday’s 3-1 triumph over the Cougars, Zampieri added seven kills and a trio of blocks in Saturday’s straight-set win. With this week’s honor, the sophomore right-side hitter has taken home four awards from the conference to lead all rookies.
