Maultsby had an explosive outing for the Red Flash in Saturday’s hard-fought 30-23 defeat at Bucknell. Entering the contest with 39 receiving yards to his name, the first-year receiver more than tripled that total after he caught nine balls for 141 yards, the most by an NEC rookie this year. In addition, the Floridian had five catches for 108 yards in Saint Francis’ four scoring drives, including his first career touchdown that put his team in front by a 14-10 count at halftime. Maultsby helped the Red Flash extend their lead after the break with a 48-yard catch that put his team on Bucknell’s five-yard line and resulted in a Mac Plummer field goal to start the third quarter. His monstrous outing pushed his season average to 36.0 receiving yards per game, which ranks 10th in the NEC and first among all conference freshmen. This is the first NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow’s Office Rookie of the Week award for a Saint Francis player this season.
