Atkins extended her NEC/Molten Rookie of the Week award spree to three after she helped lead Saint Francis to a split record at the Four Twelve Project Invitational this past weekend. The first-year right-side hitter was a factor in nearly every facet of the game, contributing 14 kills, 19 digs and five blocks while adding prowess at the service line with four aces. After her team dropped a five-set match to Robert Morris on Friday (Sept. 19), Atkins’ all-around play allowed the Red Flash to bounce back and score a 3-1 win over Duquesne on Saturday (Sept. 20). In the victory, the Garden State native stuffed the stat sheet with seven kills, 10 digs, a pair of service aces and a career-best four blocks. Atkins enters the week ranked third in the league in service aces (18) and service aces per set (0.44).
