In Stonehill’s exhilarating 4-3 overtime victory at Rider, De Roeck gave the Skyhawks a late 3-2 lead in the third quarter. Off a penalty corner, the freshman forward shot the ball from the top of the circle that was initially blocked but De Roeck didn’t give up on the play. She settled the rebound and flicked it above the Rider goalie’s heads to find the back of the cage. It marked De Roeck’s second career goal, which is tied for the most by a freshman this season. The Belgium native is the first Skyhawks to take home NEC Rookie of the Week honors since Emma McGrory earned the award twice a year ago.
