Hilble went a combined 3-0 in singles and doubles play in a pair of LIU wins last week. The senior won both solo matches from the No. 2 spot, earning a three-set win over North Carolina A&T’s Lucas Coupo-Moison (6-7, 7-5, 6-2) before downing Saint Francis U’s Alan Gonzalez (7-5, 6-1) in straight sets. Leading the Sharks to their first NEC victory of the year, Hilble and doubles partner Leon Harder defeated SFU’s Gonzalez and Tyler Nguyen on the first doubles court, 6-3, setting the tone for LIU 6-1 triumph. This marked Hilble's first career NEC Player of the Week award.
