Murphy, the league’s top scorer, produced another explosive week on the offensive end for Stonehill. In a pair of games, the Kearsage, NH native racked up 14 points to lead the Skyhawks to a 1-1 record, including a 17-8 win over Wagner in the first NEC contest of the season. She put up hat tricks in each of those games and has turned the trick six times in seven games this year. In Stonehill’s first game of the week in the Sunshine State at Stetson, Murphy accounted for half of her team’s 10 goals after she tickled the twine four times and added an assist for a team-high five points. Later in the week, she went off for a career-best outing against the Seahawks on Saturday after she recorded nine points to account for more than half of her squad’s scoring. Matching a personal-best effort in goals (6), the junior attacker dished out three dimes to top her previous career-best mark by two points. In addition, Murphy combined for three ground balls, including two in Saturday’s win. Leading the circuit with 25 goals and 33 points, she ranks second in goals per game (3.57), second in points per game (4.71) and fourth in assists per game (1.14). This is her first NEC Player of the Week award of the season.
