Taking home NEC Rookie of the Week accolades in back-to-back weeks, Janiszewski won a pair of singles matches as the Seahawks went 1-1 over the weekend. Playing at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, the two-time NEC Rookie of the Week took down Morgan State’s Makkijha Brown in a three-set contest (6-4, 3-6, 10-5) and Coppin State’s Liam Murtaugh in straight sets (6-2, 6-3). The Poland native also claimed victory on the third doubles court against the Eagles, 6-1, alongside fellow freshman Eddie Schmidt. The rookie duo was also locked in to a 5-5 stalemate with the Bears’ No. 3 squad that went unfinished after Morgan State clinched the doubles point. The Seahawks defeated Coppin State, 7-0, to boost their dual match total to four on the year. This marked the third straight week Wagner has claimed NEC Rookie of the Week honors.
