Garcia, a native of Kingsville, MD, played an instrumental part in Saint Francis U’s first-ever win over Keystone State squad Duquesne on Sunday. The sophomore defender wreaked havoc on the Dukes’ offense in the six-goal win with four caused turnovers and five ground balls. Thanks in part to her defensive contributions, the Red Flash limited the Dukes to 11 scores on the afternoon. With the four caused turnovers, the Saint Joseph’s transfer leads Saint Francis U in the category with five this season, while her 10 ground balls are also good for tops on the squad. Garcia is the first Saint Francis U player to take home NEC Defensive Player of the Week distinction this season.
