In his first collegiate meet, Gulycz finished fourth in the shot put at the Bison Opener hosted by Bucknell. The rookie delivered a league-best throw of 16.21m that also ranks 50th among all Division I competitors. Gulycz became the first Red Flash freshman to earn NEC Men's Rookie of the Week honors on the indoor circuit since Bryce Baker did so on January 18, 2022.
