Week 13 Stats: 7 tackles (6 solo), 3 interceptions
In addition to becoming the first back-to-bakc NEC Defensive Player of the Week honoree this season, Jean became the first-ever player to sweep both the NEC Defensive Player of the Week and the NEC Rookie of the Week awards in consecutive weeks. The Rochester, NY native anchored a smothering defensive effort that saw Central Connecticut hold Duquesne to a season-low in scoring against an FCS opponent this season to facilitate a 21-14 win over the then-undefeated Dukes. With the victory, the Blue Devils, who claimed a share of the NEC regular season crown for the first time since 2019, secured the NEC’s AQ to the FCS Playoffs. Jean, who recorded seven tackles, picked off Duquesne’s quarterback three times to help propel the Blue Devils to the victory in the winner take all championship game. His first two interceptions led to Central Connecticut field goals, and his third to begin the fourth was at the Duquesne 32 and set up the Blue Devils' game-winning score. The three interceptions tied both Central Connecticut’s program record, as well as the NEC’s single-game record. In addition, they matched the FCS season high. On the afternoon, the Blue Devils racked up eight picks, the most by any team in the nation against an FCS opponent this season.
