Last Week’s Stats: .256 hitting percentage, 4.17 points per set, 3.78 kills per set, 2.67 digs per set
Lagida capped off her first season in the conference by earning NEC/Molten Player of the Week honors for a league-leading fourth time. The sophomore outside hitter’s contributions on both sides of the ball helped Chicago State take home the regular season crown with a 13-1 record in league play and earn the top seed in the upcoming NEC Championship with a two-match sweep of then-second-place Saint Francis U. On the weekend, Lagida hit .256 while averaging 4.17 points, 3.78 kills and 2.67 digs per set for the Cougars. Combining for 34 kills, she added 24 digs, three blocks and tacked on two more points from the service line with a pair of aces. With her team needing one win to claim the regular season crown, Lagida took care of business on Friday with a 10-kill, three-block performance. On Saturday, the Poland native was even more impressive as she notched double figures in kills for the 16th time this season after tallying 24 in a thrilling five-set win. Against league competitors this season, Lagida averaged 3.44 kills and 0.50 aces per set to rank third in the circuit in both categories.
