Last Week’s Stats: .476 hitting percentage, 2.36 points per set, 1.57 kills per set, 1.14 blocks per set
Behind Marchetto’s impressive play this past weekend, FDU secured a top two seed in the upcoming NEC Championship for the third consecutive season after the Knights coasted past Stonehill in respective 3-0 and 3-1 finals. The first-year Knight played in every set over the weekend and tallied 11 kills with just one miscue for a stellar .476 hitting percentage. In addition, Marchetto added four blocks in each match to rack up 16.50 points (2.36 per set). Starting off her week by delivering five kills in Friday’s straight-set victory, she posted six more kills with zero miscues in 10 total attacks for a sizzling .600 hitting percentage in Saturday’s four-set triumph. This is Marchetto’s fourth weekly award from the NEC this season. Earning NEC/Molten Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 24, the Italian-born middle hitter swept both the NEC/Molten Defensive Player of the Week and the NEC/Molten Rookie of the Week awards earlier this month on Nov. 5. On the season, she is just one of two NEC blockers to averaging more than 1.00 rejection per set (1.04).
