Week 9 Stats: 10 tackles (2 solo), 0.5 TFL
Shegog was a major contributor to a Robert Morris defense that shut out an opponent for the second time this season on Saturday. The graduate student recorded 10 tackles — including a pair of solo stops — and had 0.5 tackles-for-loss to pilot the Colonials to a 17-0 win over Saint Francis U. In addition, he helped hold the Red Flash to just 61 rushing yards and 130 total yards of offense on the afternoon. With the triumph, Robert Morris improved to 3-0 in conference play for the second straight season as an NEC member. Previously blanking Delaware State by a 23-0 final, Robert Morris has now shut out multiple opponents in the same season for the first time since 1999. A Preseason All-NEC selection, Shegog has put up double digits in tackles four times this season. He leads the Colonials and is ranked third in the NEC in tackles (63) and tackles per game (7.9), while his team-leading 3.0 sacks are tied for first in the league. With Shegog’s first NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor, Robert Morris has claimed the award in each of the past two weeks. They lead the NEC with four Defensive Player of the Week honors this season.
