Last Week’s Stats: 4.50 points per set, 3.71 digs per set, 3.29 kills per set, 1.00 service aces per set
Klaer put up double figures in kills twice to lead Chicago State to a weekend sweep of LIU and help the Cougars improve to 4-0 in NEC play. The junior contributed 4.50 points per set after combining for 23 kills, 26 digs, three blocks and seven service aces in the respective 3-1 and 3-0 wins. Klaer got her week going with a double-double — her fifth of the season — on Friday evening. Delivering 10 kills and 17 digs, she added a trio of blocks and a season-best four service aces in the triumph. On Saturday, the Michigan product set a new season-high in kills for a three-set match after she racked up 13 on the afternoon. Klaer also tacked on three points from the service line in the series finale with the Sharks. This season, she leads Chicago State with 26 service aces and 0.44 aces per set, while her 2.66 kills per set are good for second on the team. This is Klaer’s first NEC/Molten Player of the Week award, and the third for a Cougar this season.
