Last Week’s Stats: 5.00 digs per set, 0.67 service aces per set
Calderon helped the Cougars roar into the NEC slate in style with back-to-back sweeps of Central Connecticut. The libero from Peru delivered double-digit digs in each of Chicago State’s matches, recording 16 in her team’s NEC debut on Friday before notching 14 more in Saturday’s triumph. The 16 digs were a season-best effort for a three-set match in 2024. In addition to her stellar defensive play, Calderon, a graduate student, racked up points from the service line. She finished the weekend with four aces, including a season-high three in the series finale. Calderon ranks second in the conference with 4.37 digs per set, however her 5.00-per-set clip in league play leads all NEC players. This is Calderon’s second NEC/Molten Defensive Player of the Week award, as she previously took home the honor on Sept. 10.
