Week 3 Stats: 14 tackles (8 solo)
Miller, a sophomore linebacker, turned in a sensational defensive effort to help lead Duquesne to a 28-25 win at No. 20 Youngstown State for the program’s second-ever win over a nationally-ranked opponent. Prior to Saturday’s upset, the Dukes’ only other win against a ranked squad came back in 2018 by way of a 31-10 win over Towson in the opening round of the FCS Playoffs. Miller, who was also pegged the NEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, delivered a game-high 14 tackles for the Dukes. In addition to posting a career-best effort in tackles in the big win, the local product from Pittsburgh also set the single-game standard for the NEC in the category this season. Entering the contest with 9.0 total tackles against FBS opponents Toledo and Boston College, Miller is ranked fifth in the circuit with 7.7 per contest. This is his first NEC Rookie of the Week honor, and the first for a Duquesne first-year player this season.
