Atkinson delivered another lethal offensive performance in Merrimack’s 2024 season finale on Wednesday to pocket another NEC Rookie of the Week award. With this week’s honor — which is her fourth in as many weeks — the attacker from the Commonwealth State pushed her season total to six, which leads all first-year players in the league. In addition, no other player has garnered more honors in all three weekly award categories in 2024. Atkinson struck three times and added an assist for four points in the Warriors’ hard-fought defeat to local foe Stonehill on Wednesday. Compiling a hat trick for the fourth time in the past five weeks, she turned the trick seven times during her debut campaign in North Andover. Merrimack’s top scorer and leader in goals (31), assists (15) and points (46), Atkinson emerged as an offensive threat in conference play, ranking sixth in both goals per game (2.60) and points per game (3.70) during the 10-game slate.
