Nash made huge contributions to a Saint Francis U offense that outscored FDU by a 28-0 margin en route to securing its sixth NEC sweep of the season. Improving to 18-0 against conference competitors, the Red Flash locked up the top seed in the upcoming NEC Championship and claimed at least a share of the regular season crown. In three games, Nash went 6-for-11 with a pair of home runs, five runs scored and seven RBI. The sophomore outfielder came up clutch for the Red Flash in Saturday’s opening game, slamming a three-run homer in the top of the seventh frame to break open a scoreless stalemate and propel her team to the 3-0 triumph. In Saturday’s nightcap, a 14-0 five-inning win, Nash, who was perfect at the plate in four at-bats, scored three times and drove in one. The Mechanicsville, VA native concluded the weekend with a bang, launching another three-run shot to cap off the scoring in an 11-0 run-rule win. This is Nash’s first time earning weekly recognition from the conference this season. With this week’s distinction, Saint Francis U has had its share of NEC Player of the Week awards as of late, claiming six of the past seven honors.
