Hamilton was sensational for the Blue Devils in her two appearances inside the circle this past week. The rookie hurler went 2-0 and posted a 0.64 ERA after allowing just one earned run while scattering six hits and one walk in 11.0 innings of work. During that stretch, she fanned 11 batters. A native of Powell, OH, Hamilton got her week off to a strong start against Army on Wednesday when she came out of the bullpen to guide the Blue Devils to a 6-5 extra-inning triumph. In the final six frames, she held the Black Knights to just one earned run on four hits to set the scene for a come-from-behind, walk-off 10-inning triumph. Later in the week, Hamilton delivered a dominant performance in the nightcap against Merrimack on Saturday. Going the distance while allowing just two hits and a walk in the five-inning shutout, she earned her ninth victory of the season and forced a rubber match with the Warriors by way of an 8-0 final. This is Hamilton’s first NEC Rookie of the Week award, and the first for a Blue Devil player this season.
