Merrimack’s leader in goals (28) and points (42) added a seven-point game to her résumé on Saturday to lead the Warriors to a 16-6 win at Delaware State. With the triumph, Merrimack remains in contention for the sixth — and final — spot in the upcoming NEC Tournament. Against the Hornets, Atkinson found the back of the net a season-best six times to lead all scorers. Adding an assist to that total, she bested her previous career high point total by two after finishing with seven. The attacker and Franklin, MA native has registered multiple goals in each of her past four games. In addition, Atkinson has notched six hat tricks and has turned the trick three times since the start of April.
