Shroyer pulls off the NEC Pitcher of the Week and NEC Rookie of the Week double for the second time this season after she strung together four sensational outings inside the circle for FDU. In 29.1 innings pitched, the San Dimas, CA native did not allow an earned run to help lead the Knights to a trio of victories. Shroyer went the distance in each of her four starts, and under her watch, she allowed just three unearned runs on seven hits and nine walks. Most impressively, the first-year hurler racked up 51 strkeouts, including 13 in a 6-1 win over Le Moyne on Wednesday. Highlighting Shroyer’s week was the rookie’s first career no-hitter, which came in the series finale against the Dolphins on Thursday. In that outing, she fanned 12 batters to lead the Knights to a 3-0 victory. This is Shroyer’s third NEC Rookie of the Week award, and the hurler’s fifth total weekly award from the conference this season. She is the only player in the circuit this season to be recognized as both the NEC Pitcher of the Week and the NEC Rookie of the Week honors on the same day in 2024.
