Locastro anchored a lockdown Le Moyne defense that conceded just 12 goals over a two-game stretch last week. The junior from Marcellus, NY averaged 5.0 caused turnovers and 5.0 ground balls per game to propel the Dolphins to triumphs over Central Connecticut (17-5) and Wagner (10-7). With those two victories, Le Moyne locked up a spot in the upcoming NEC Championships with a 7-2 record in conference play. Locastro, a defender, got her week going by collecting six ground balls and causing five turnovers in Le Moyne’s 12-goal triumph at Central Connecticut on Wednesday. In that victory, the Dolphins held the Blue Devils to five scores, marking a season-best defensive effort for the conference newcomer. Later in the week, Locastro made it four-straight games with four-or-more caused turnovers after she again forced five miscues in Saturday’s 10-7 triumph vs. the Seahawks. In addition, she added four ground balls to her count. On the season, the defender leads the Dolphins in ground balls (45) and caused turnovers (40). In addition, Locastro leads the entire NEC and is fourth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (3.22), while her 3.44 ground balls per contest are good for second in the conference and eighth in NCAA Division I.
