Ulam, who has arguably been one of the top hitters in the circuit this season, tacked on six more hits, six more RBI and two more doubles to her already league-leading numbers to lead a red-hot Saint Francis U team to a sweep of Central Connecticut this past weekend. With the three victories, the Red Flash improved to 12-0 behind four sweeps of NEC opponents. Ulam went 6-for-12 and posted a 1.000 slugging percentage for a Saint Francis U offense that lit up the scoreboard with 24 runs, including 16 in the series finale, a 15-run triumph on Sunday. The Canonsburg, PA product launched multiple hits in all three games and drove in at least one RBI in each of those outings. Driving in the first run of the series on a base hit in an eventual 6-1 victory, Ulam also opened the scoring in Saturday’s nightcap with an RBI single to lead the Red Flash to a 2-0 win. The junior infielder saved her best performance for the series finale, where she tallied four RBI — all in the first inning — and doubled twice to propel the Red Flash to the 16-1 triumph. Ulam enters the week as the NEC’s leader in hits (41), RBI (34) and doubles (15), while her 27 runs scored are good for second. She is batting .336 on the season, including .500 against conference competitors, with a .582 slugging percentage. This is Ulam’s fourth NEC Player of the Week award.
