Vesco’s right arm propelled the veteran hurler to her third NEC Pitcher of the Week honor, and her second weekly award in as many weeks. The Uniontown, OH native once again strung together two more impressive outings inside the circle to help lead Saint Francis U to its fourth NEC sweep of the season. Taking three games from Central Connecticut this past weekend, the Red Flash sit on top of the league standings as the only undefeated team with a 12-0 record. Vesco made two starts and in that eight-inning stretch, she did not allow an earned run on her watch. She opened the weekend by going the distance in Saint Francis U’s 6-1 win where she struck out 10 Blue Devils and allowed just two hits and two walks on Saturday. Vesco earned the start in Sunday’s series finale. Registering her 700th career strikeout in that contest, she was pulled after one inning of work after the Red Flash built a 14-0 lead through two innings. In conference games, her 0.85 ERA and .114 opposing batting average leads all pitchers. Overall, Vesco is first in the circuit in ERA (1.59) and opposing batting average (.138), while her 11 wins and 115 strikeouts are good for second.
