Walters, a first-year infielder, went 3-for-7 for a .429 batting average to lead Saint Francis U to a three-game sweep of LIU. With the victories, the Red Flash improved to 9-0 in conference play and padded their lead on top of the league standings as the only undefeated team in the circuit. During that three-game stretch, Walters, who went 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts, scored four times and drew three walks for a .600 on-base percentage. In the second game of the series, the Bucks County, PA native went 2-for-2 and walked twice. She also scored each of Saint Francis U’s first two runs in the eventual 6-4 victory. The following day, Walters had another solid outing. Going 1-for-3 in the batter’s box, she crossed home twice to propel the Red Flash to a 9-1 five-inning triumph. Walters is now a repeat NEC Rookie of the Week honoree, as she first took home the award on Feb. 13.
