Castellano’s efforts on the back line yielded one of the stingiest team defensive performances by Merrimack this season. Collecting a career-high five ground balls while causing three turnovers, the Litchfield, NH native helped the Warriors hold Central Connecticut to just five scores en route to a six-goal triumph in NEC action on Saturday. The five goals marked a season-best defensive effort and it was the third time in conference play that the Warriors conceded eight goals or fewer in a game. Registering multiple caused turnovers in four contests this season, Castellano is third on the team in the category (11), while her 17 ground balls rank fourth amongst fellow Warriors. This is her first NEC weekly award of the season.
