Kowalski had a dominant stretch inside the circle at the Spring Games in Madeira Beach, FL. She earned two victories in three appearances, posted a 1.62 ERA and struck out 11 batters in 13.0 innings of work. The highlight of Kowalski’s week came on the opening day of the five-game tournament. The San Clemente, CA native tossed a no-hitter — the first for a Sacred Heart pitcher since 2022 — to lead the Pios to a 5-0 win over St. Bonaventure. On Saturday, Kowalski was key in helping Sacred Heart grind out a 2-1 walk-off victory in extra innings against Monmouth. The sophomore set the tone for Victoria LoPinto’s game-winning triple after she held the Hawks to an unearned run in three innings of relief. Kowalski was lights out in that game, fanning eight batters while issuing just a pair of walks in the complete-game gem. This season, she ranks sixth amongst NEC hurlers with a 2.57 ERA, while her 30 strikeouts are good for fifth in the conference. This is her first NEC Pitcher of the Week award this season.
