Lesmeister was a force to be reckoned with on defense for the Red Flash against Robert Morris on Wednesday. Contributing to a back line that held the Colonials to single digits in goals, the first-year defender caused four turnovers and added two ground balls to help lead Saint Francis U to the 15-9 victory. The triumph snapped the Red Flash’s 13-game skid against their former conference mate that dated back to the 2006 campaign. Lesmeister’s first ground ball of the game led to Saint Francis U’s first score of the game on the ensuing possession. Another defensive stop — her second caused turnover of the afternoon — resulted in another Red Flash goal with 54 seconds left in the opening quarter. This is Lesmeister’s first NEC Rookie of the Week award, and the first for a Saint Francis U player this season.
