Williams’ hot shooting from behind the arc helped propel FDU to a pair of pivotal wins in NEC play last week, which in turn led to the Knights securing the No. 3 seed in the upcoming NEC Tournament. The guard from Holly Springs, NC was dialed in from downtown during that stretch, converting on 66.7 percent of her attempts (8-of-12) to put up double figures in each of those wins. Williams got her week going by draining 4-of-6 shots from long range to finish with 15 points against Merrimack on Thursday. Three days later, she turned in another 4-of-6 effort from three and closed out the game shooting a sizzling 71.4 percent from the field for 14 points against the Seahawks. Williams has been on a tear from three-point land as of late. She has knocked own multiple triples in six of her past seven outings and is shooting 58.3 percent from behind the arc in that stretch (21-of-36). In addition, Williams, who ranks second amongst league rookies and is 15th overall in scoring during NEC play with 11.3 points per game, enters FDU’s final regular-season game riding a six-game double-digit scoring streak. This marks the second time this season that Williams garners NEC Rookie of the Week distinction, as she first took home the honor on Jan. 16.
