Stringer was a nightmare for the pitching staffs of Saint Peters and Holy Cross this past weekend. The senior third baseman led Central Connecticut to a pair of sweeps against those non-conference foes after she combined to go 7-for-14 at the plate. More impressively, Stringer, who scored six times and drove in six runs during that stretch, compiled a 1.143 slugging percentage and a .533 on-base percentage for a 1.676 OPS. Fueling those numbers were three home runs, all of which came in Sunday’s 7-5 and 9-4 victories over the Peacocks. Launching a solo shot in the first game against Saint Peter’s, the Monroe, WA native went yard twice for four RBI in the nightcap. Stringer went on to go 2-for-3 with a pair of runs in Monday’s first game against the Crusaders, a 5-0 victory, before she drove in one run in the final contest of the week, a 2-1 triumph. With a league-best four homers this season, she now ranks first in Central Connecticut history with 29 career home runs. In addition, her .524/1.095/.545 slash line is the best in the NEC.
