Shroyer had an outstanding stretch in the circle this past weekend, as her dominance helped lead FDU to three non-conference wins. The California product posted a 1.19 ERA in 15.1 innings of work that stretched across a pair of starts and one relief appearance. In addition, Shroyer, who went the distance in each of her starts, allowed just two earned runs on four walks and seven hits while striking out 27 batters. The hurler got her week going with a complete-game effort against Bucknell on Saturday. She allowed two earned runs on four hits in the 3-2 triumph. On Sunday, Shroyer came out of the bullpen and recorded the final four outs of the game behind a pair of strikeouts in a 7-6 walk-off victory against Bucknell. She capped off her stellar play with a lights-out performance in Sunday’s start over Hofstra, an NCAA Tournament team from a year ago. Scattering just three hits in the complete-game shutout, Shroyer registered a career-high 17 strikeouts — the most by an NCAA Division I player this season — to earn the 1-0 victory. On the season, Shroyer ranks first in the NEC in strikeouts (27), third in ERA (0.91) and fourth in opposing batting average (.143). She is the first rookie this season to garner Pitcher of the Week honors.
