Edmonds takes home NEC Rookie of the Week honors for the second time since the start of conference play. The first-year forward has been a scoring and rebounding machine for the Seahawks as of late, producing back-to-back double-doubles for the first time in her career while accomplishing the feat three times in her past four appearances. During that stretch, Edmonds, who shot a sizzling 63.6 percent from the field (14-of-22), averaged 16.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in 28.0 minutes per contest. The Brooklyn product got her week going with a bang at Central Connecticut on Thursday evening. Pulling down 11 rebounds, she poured in a career-high 22 points on 75-percent shooting (9-of-12). It marked the first 20-point outing of Edmonds’ career, and her fourth double-double performance since Jan. 27. Three days later, she tallied 11 points in an overtime defeat at LIU and made it four-straight games with double figures in rebounding after she corralled 12 boards to match a career high. In NEC play, Edmonds is leading all Seahawks with 10.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, which rank 18th and fifth in the circuit, respectively.
