Kolowitz’s right arm helped lead Saint Francis U to a perfect 5-0 record and a tournament title at the Wofford Invitational this past weekend. The rookie from Belle Vernon, PA made two appearances for the Red Flash in the Palmetto State, and in that span, she did not allow an earned run in 6.0 innings of work. The opposition’s base runners were sparce on her watch, as she issued just three walks and scattered seven hits. Kolowitz made her first appearance of the weekend on Friday when she closed the door on Rhode Island in one inning of relief in the fifth — and final — frame after striking out two batters. Kolowitz finished off her impressive weekend by going the distance against the Rams and earning her first career win by way of a complete-game shutout on Saturday. Rhode Island was limited to just eight base runners on her watch on five runs, a pair of walks and an error.
