Williams put up double figures twice last week to lead FDU to a split weekend against conference competitors. Rebounding from a defeat to Stonehill on Saturday with a win over Saint Francis U on Monday, the Knights improved to 2-2 in NEC play. A native of Holly Springs, NC, Williams led all Knights with 15 points in Saturday’s 60-56 setback to the Skyhawks. She made a living from the free throw line, cashing in on seven freebies in a game-high nine attempts. Two days later, Williams extended her double-figure scoring streak to three contests after knocking down a pair of three-pointers and going 3-of-4 from the charity stripe for 11 points. She was one of three Knights to rack up double figures in the 10-point victory over the Red Flash. Since the start of the league slate, Williams has averaged 9.3 points per game, which is up from the 5.2 ppg that she put up over FDU’s 13 non-conference contests. This is her first-ever weekly award from the NEC, and the first weekly honor for an FDU player this season.
