The reigning NEC Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year picked up right where she left off with another trademarked do-it-all performance for the Pioneers. Her stellar and consistent play led Sacred Heart to back-to-back wins over CAA opponents, including a 59-50 victory at defending league champ Monmouth on Wednesday and a 63-60 triumph against Hofstra on Sunday. A product of Baltimore, Pryor was an absolute workhorse last week. Playing 79-of-80 possible minutes, the 5-foot-3 guard and preseason All-NEC pick stuffed the stat sheet with 17.5 points, 8.5 boards, 4.5 dimes and 2.5 steals per game. She got her week going by coming one rebound shy of her first double-double of the season, adding 17 points, five assists and two steals in the victory over the Hawks. She backed that performance by dropping 18 points in Sunday’s nailbiter with the Pride, adding eight rebounds, four assists and three swipes. With her two big outings, Pryor has catapulted up the rankings of the NEC’s top scorers, as she is second in the loop behind Central Connecticut’s Belle Lanpher (15.0 ppg) with 14.8 points per contest. She is also first in steals (1.9 spg), second in assists (4.8 apg), eighth in rebounding (5.8 rpg), fifth in field goal percentage (.323) and sixth in free-throw percentage (.720).
