Garcia paced Merrimack’s offense in an 11-point defeat to Northeastern on Thursday, scoring a career-high 13 points. The first-year guard had a hot hand against the Huskies, going 63.8 percent from the field after making 5-of-8 shots, including 3-of-5 from long range. In addition to the double-digit scoring affair — her second in as many games — Garcia added six boards, four steals and a pair of her assists to her stat line in 23 minutes of work. The Puerto Rico native is tied for first among NEC rookies and is second on the team in scoring with 9.8 points per game.
