Coney was consistent in LIU’s season finale, as he racked up 11 points for the Sharks after draining all three of his field goal attempts and going 2-for-2 on PATs. Converting from 42 and 39 yards out, the redshirt junior gave the Sharks a 23-21 lead on his third — and final — field goal from 29 yards out with 3:15 left in the third. LIU ultimately came up short, though, as Stonehill closed out the game with 17-unanswered points. A local product from Wantagh, NY, Coney also handled LIU’s kickoff duties in the defeat, averaging 56.9 yards on seven attempts with a pair of touchbacks. This season, he tallied 10 field goals to help the Sharks finish in a four-way tie for second place with a 4-3 record in league play. This is Coney’s first Special Teams Player of the Week honor this season.
