A native of Bedford, MA, Zovko put a bow on an impressive debut season by taking home her league-leading 10th NEC Rookie of the Week award of 2023. The first-year setter once again did a little bit of everything for the Pioneers, who went 2-0 with sweeps of Stonehill and Merrimack to claim a share of the NEC regular season title and lock up the top seed in the upcoming NEC Championship for the second straight year. During that stretch, she averaged 6.17 assists, 3.33 points, 2.33 kills, 1.33 digs, 0.67 aces and 0.67 blocks per set, all while posting a .321 hitting percentage. Against the Skyhawks on Friday, Zovko delivered 18 assists and six kills in the 3-0 victory. She was just as impressive in Saturday’s 3-0 win against the Warriors, posting 18 kills, three blocks and four aces for 13.5 points, while adding five digs and 19 dimes. Zovko enters the postseason ranked fourth in the conference in assists per set (7.04) and first in service aces (53) and aces per set (0.59). During league play, she upped her assist total to 7.70 per set, which is good for third in the circuit.
