Week 11 Stats: 2-for-2 FG (22, 34 yards), 3-for-3 PAT
Shelbred racked up nine points to help lead Stonehill to a 33-28 win over first-place Duquesne in Pittsburgh on Saturday. Handing the Dukes their first conference loss, the Skyhawks also delayed Duquesne’s chance to clinch the NEC’s AQ to the FCS Playoffs — and their chance to claim the league title outright — for at least a week. A native of Ridgefield, CT, Shelbred put the Skyhawks on the scoreboard early with a 22-yarder on his team’s opening drive. Later in the quarter, Shelbred made it a 20-7 Stonehill advantage after draining a 34-yard field goal. The senior also went 3-for-3 on PATs to improve to 22-for-22 on the season. Shelbred is averaging 4.8 points per game for the Skyhawks, who look to double last year’s NEC win total (2) with a victory against LIU. This is his second NEC Special Teams Player of the Week honor this season.
