Garnering the honor following the first weekend of the season, Deptula adds another NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor to her resume after she helped lead Saint Francis U to its third and fourth-straight sweep of an NEC opponent this past weekend. A middle hitter from Boca Raton, FL, she totaled seven blocks in two key wins over Sacred Heart and Central Connecticut. Deptula had a solid match in an upset of the Pioneers, who entered the evening in a tie for first place, delivering three rejections in the 3-0 win. One day later at Central Connecticut, the veteran posted four blocks to help put Saint Francis U in prime position to lock up the fourth — and final — spot in the upcoming NEC Tournament. Entering the final weekend of the conference slate, the Red Flash need one win this weekend to clinch a playoff berth. Averaging 0.89 blocks per set, Deptula is tied for fourth in the NEC rankings in the category.
