Zovko takes home the NEC Rookie of the Week award for an unprecedented ninth time this year. A setter, she has trademarked the phrase “jack-of-all-trades” this season, and this weekend was no exception. Zovko averaged 7.17 assists, 2.00 digs, 1.33 kills, 0.67 blocks and 0.50 service aces to lead the Pioneers to a 1-1 mark in NEC play. Delivering three aces in a defeat to Saint Francis U on Friday, the Bedford, MA native stuffed the stat sheet once again with 25 assists, nine digs, six kills and four blocks in the Pioneers’ sweep of Le Moyne. Zovko continues to hold on to her spot on top of the NEC statistics in service aces, as she is first in both total aces (49) and aces per set (0.58). Entering the final weekend of conference play, Sacred Heart has clinched a spot in the NEC Tournament and is currently in second place behind FDU (10-2) with a 9-3 record.
