In Thursday's 3-1 triumph over CCSU, Goddard set the tone offensively for Merrimack as he was directly involved in all three goals in North Andover, MA. Now a three-time NEC Player of the Week, Goddard played a pivotal role in pushing the Warriors through to the post-season helping his squad earn the No. 5 seed. The sophomore from London, England has been a threat to the opposition all season having a nose for the goal early in the first half and he punished the opponent again on Thursday. Goddard opened the scoring of the game just seven minutes into the match after he used his chest to take a ball out of the air, rolled it with the bottom of his foot while fighting for position and fired an off-balance, low-driven shot to the right side-netting of the goal. In a 1-1 contest, the Warriors' produced a masterclass team goal stringing together nine passes from the goalkeeper to the final product. In the 23rd minute of the game, Goddard was played a through-ball toward goal where he showed his individual brilliance cutting right then left on the CCSU defender to set up a service into the box and onto the head of teammate Liam Ziegler who found the back of the net for a 2-1 lead. Just five minutes later, Goddard was involved in a combination to set up teammate Herman Rugland who fired a long shot from outside the box and into the left side of the goal to seal the 3-1 win. Goddard shares the top rank in the NEC with 10 goals and is ranked second with 23 points. Goddard has received the most NEC Player of the Week honors across the league with three.
