Fucka’s hot hitting propelled a red-hot FDU squad to the top of the NEC women’s volleyball standings with a convincing 3-1 win at LIU on Saturday. Completing the regular-season sweep of the Sharks while extending their program-best winning streak to seven matches with the triumph, the Knights improved to 8-2 in NEC play, which ties them for first place with Sacred Heart with two weekends and four matches remaining in the regular season. Racking up 15 kills, Fucka committed just one miscue in 21 total attacks to finish with a sizzling .667 hitting percentage on the day. The Italian-born middle blocker also contributed four blocks to close out the match with 17.0 points. Committing the fewest errors amongst NEC players with 400+ total attacks this season, Fucka owns a league-leading .366 hitting percentage. She is even more impressive against conference opponents, hitting at a .493 clip with just seven misfires. This is Fucka’s second NEC Player of the Week award this season, as she previously earned the honor on October 10 following FDU’s first win over LIU.
