Bain was a major contributor to an all-around team effort that led FDU past LIU in four sets in the Knights’ lone match of the weekend. Helping the Knights extend their program-best winning streak to seven consecutive matches, she also propelled FDU into a two-way tie for first place in the NEC standings with the win. Bain broke out to deliver a career-best 13-kills against the Sharks after combining to hit .233 during that stretch. The outside hitter and Pittsburgh product has stepped up her game as of late, delivering 32 of her 77 kills in her past three matches for a 2.46 kill-per-set average during that stretch. With her first career weekly honor, Bain dethroned Sacred Heart setter Gaby Zovko, who has claimed each of the past five NEC Rookie of the Week awards and 8-of-10 honors this season. Teammate Kyndal Ganoe is the only other NEC first-year player to have claimed NEC Rookie of the Week distinction after she received the honor of Sept. 19.
