Week 8 Stats: 33 rushes, 146 rushing yardsj, 4.4 ypc, 2 rushing TDs
In his return from injury, Corbett scored a pair of touchdowns for Stonehill against Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon, including the dramatic game-winner in double overtime. His second score of the day — a five-yard run that capped a 25-yard drive — answered a Pioneers’ go-ahead field goal on their second possession in overtime to lift the Skyhawks to the 22-19 Homecoming victory at W.B. Mason Stadium. During that final possession, Corbett rushed for 16 of Stonehill’s 25 yards to finish the day with 146 total yards on the ground. That performance marked the Long Branch, NJ native’s third 100-yard game in his five appearances this season. He also registered a four-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give Stonehill an early 7-3 advantage. Despite his two-game absence due to injury, Corbett, who leads the NEC with seven touchdowns and is second in rushing yards per game (118.6), ranks third in the conference with 593 total yards on the ground. This is his league-best third NEC Offensive Player of the Week award this season.
