Week 8 Stats: 4 tackles (3 solo), 2 INT
Clark was the anchor of a stout Central Connecticut defense that stymied Wagner by holding the Seahawks to just one field goal in a 17-3 triumph on Grymes Hill on Saturday afternoon. The junior defensive back came away with a pair of interceptions, including one in each half, while adding three tackles and one assisted stop to that performance. A native of Lackawanna, NY, Clark returned his first pick of the afternoon for 20 yards on the opening play of the second quarter. Later in the game, he halted a potential Wagner scoring drive after he intercepted a pass on Central Connecticut’s six-yard line on a Seahawks’ 1st-and-goal to preserve the Blue Devils’ 17-3 lead in the third quarter. A 5-foot-10 defensive back, Clark leads the Blue Devils and is tied for fifth in the circuit with 54 tackles, while his 7.7 tackles per game are tied for fourth in the league. This is Clark’s first NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor, and the first for a Blue Devil this season.
