Anderson, who nabs Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time this season, becomes the fourth different Sacred Heart player to earn the distinction this season. The senior middle blocker was instrumental in leading the Pioneers to a perfect 2-0 record this past weekend. With wins over Saint Francis U and Le Moyne, the Pioneers continue their dominant run through the NEC with a perfect 7-0 record, holding a two-game edge over FDU and LIU, who are both 5-2 on the season. A native of Weston, MA, Anderson amassed 13 blocks and averaged 1.63 rejections per set over a two-match stretch. Delivering a career-best nine blocks in a thrilling five-set victory over the Red Flash, she tacked on four more in Sacred Heart's straight-set triumph over Le Moyne. In addition, she added 11 total kills to that weekend total, including six in the first-ever meeting with the Dolphins. She currently ranks second in the circuit in blocks per set (1.00). Anderson joins fellow teammates Jasmine Rogers (Sept. 12), Gaby Zovko (Sept. 26) and Cristina Montanez (Oct. 10) in taking home the honor.
